Ericsson shows off LTE Voice & 100 Mbps data call

Ericsson has demonstrated LTE with a speed of 100 Mbps alongwith Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call  at their local offices in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ericsson has demonstrated LTE with a speed of 100 Mbps alongwith Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call  at their local offices in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ericsson’s Praven Reddy demonstrated LTE speeds of just over 100 Mbps using a 100 Mbps capable Samsung LTE dongle, reports mybroadband.co.za.

Ericsson also demonstarted Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call to a mobile phone on the MTN network.  

According to Reddy Ericsson is now rolling out a VoLTE network in the United States & expects the first LTE Multi Mode Smart phones to arrive before the end of 2010.

Ericsson is conducting LTE trials across world and earlier this month TD-LTE trial was reported in Dublin, Ireland. Ericsson achieved speeds up to 80MBits/sec in 2.3 GHz band
