Telecommunications equipment and network solutions provider ZTE has launched of the CDMA/LTE dual-mode distributed NodeB system with four transmitters and four receivers (4T4R).

According to ZTE, It’s Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology with two 2×2 or 4×4 MIMO configurations, allows an increased number of simultaneous data streams, maintenance of coverage over greater distances and faster downloading of data. The MIMO feature helps carriers significantly enhance cell coverage and capacity by improving spectral efficiency, accelerating network deployment and decreasing network construction costs.

This distributed NodeB system is based on ZTE’s large-scale commercial Soft Defined Radio (SDR) platform to support CDMA2000 1X, EV-DO and LTE.
