Chunghwa Telecom Starts Commercial LTE Service

Taiwan’s telecom service provider Chunghwa Telecom has launched commercial 4G LTE network in the country. Operator is currently offering over 30 LTE-compatible devices and plans to increase it to over 50 in the third quarter.

Taiwan’s telecom service provider Chunghwa Telecom has launched commercial 4G LTE network in the country. Operator is currently offering over 30 LTE-compatible devices and plans to increase it to over 50 in the third quarter.

Chunghwa Telecom is targeting 400,000 4G subscriptions by the end of this year. Operator has rolled out eight different data plans, ranging from NT$236 (S$9.90) to NT$2,636 in price. Operator’s LTE device offerings includes HTC, Samsung , Sony, Apple, ASUS, LG, Huawei, BenQ and Infocus.

According to Chunghwa it owns the 35MHz spectrum bandwidth, and can offer theoretical 100Mbps download speed and 30Mbps upload speed.
