Rogers to Launch LTE Network in Ottawa This Summer

Canadian operator Rogers will launch the LTE network in Ottawa this summer.

Canadian operator Rogers will launch the LTE network in Ottawa this summer. Rogers will launch commercial LTE network services in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver as well in 2011 with the top 25 markets across Canada coming online in 2012.  

Rogers will initially launch LTE using AWS spectrum and will over time deploy LTE in multiple bands. Rogers has selected Ericsson as its supplier in commercial deployment.

Operator is offering LTE-Rocket stick in $79.99 with a 3-year hardware discount agreement or in $169.99 without any term.

Rogers announced a comprehensive technical trial of LTE in Ottawa and Montreal last year to ready itself for a smooth, commercial deployment in 2011.
