China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has approved plans to undertake large-scale trials of TD-LTE in six cities to demonstrate it’s commercial feasibility, reports People’s Daily Online.
According to Digitimes, the six cities are Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou in eastern China, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in the south and Xiamen in the southeast.
LTE vendors Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson, Datang Telecom, ZTE and Huawei Technologies are expected to participate in these trials.
