Brazilian operator Claro has launched LTE network in four Brazilian cities Recife, Campos do Jordao, Buzios and Parati. Earlier this year in August, operator had started LTE pilot in three cities Campos do Jordao, Buzios and Parati.

Operator has also started offering a number of LTE devices including Motorola Razr HD and Huawei modem E392 along with new 4G plans.
Claro plans to have 4G operational in some additional cities as per the schedule set by Anatel before the April 2013 deadline set in the 2.5 GHz spectrum auction. By April 2013, LTE will be available in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Salvador and Rio de Janeiro (host cities of the FIFA worldCup ). By the end of 2013, the LTE network will also be deployed in Cuiaba, Manaus, Natal, Porto Alegre, Curitiba and São Paulo.
