EE Extends LTE Network in Additional Towns and Cities

UK operator EE has launched LTE network in 13 new towns and cities across the country, bringing the total number of towns and cities with 4G LTE coverage to 50, just five months after the launch of the service.

UK operator EE has launched LTE network in 13 new towns and cities across the country, bringing the total number of towns and cities with 4G LTE coverage to 50, just five months after the launch of the service.

Beginning today, EE is switching on LTE network in Bradford, Bingley, Doncaster, Dudley, Harpenden, Leicester, Lichfield, Loughborough, Luton, Reading, Shipley, St Albans and West Bromwich. According to operator, 4G from EE now covers the homes and businesses of 50% of the UK population. By the end of June, EE is committed to launching 4G in another 30 towns and cities, bringing the total to 80.

Operator expects to deliver 4G to 70% of the UK population by the end of this year, and 98% of the population by the end of 2014.
