Finland’s wireless operator Elisa has chosen Nokia Solutions and Networks as supplier for its next-generation mobile broadband networks. The contract covers a period of 5 years from 2014 to 2018. In January 2014, the operator launched its 800 MHz LTE network in the country, aiming at a fast build-out of nationwide coverage which includes rural areas.

Under the contract, NSN will upgrade its NetAct network management system to integrate the operator’s LTE network into the existing management framework. It will implement its Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Stations that support Elisa’s network across all technologies and allow the operator to scale capacity depending on changing customer demands. In addition, the agreement covers Care Services, including Active Software Support, Hardware Services and Competence Development Solutions.
