Poland’s mobile broadband operator Aero2 and Huawei has entered in a new partnership to launch the LTE TDD/FDD converged commercial telecommunications network.

Operator plans to expand TDD/FDD network coverage to 25 percent of the population using Huawei’s equipments and bring mobile broadband services to over 200 urban and rural communities in Poland by the end of 2012.

Aero2 had started commercial TD-LTE network 2500MHz band in May earlier this year in partnership with Huawei. For this collaboration, Huawei and Aero2 received the 2011 Global Telecommunications Business (GTB) Innovation award for “Wireless network infrastructure innovation” for improving mobile broadband coverage and contributing to the elimination of the “digital divide.”

Operator expects to boost high-speed mobile internet access with downlink data speeds of 134Mb/s and uplink speeds of 124.8Mb/s using Huawei’s SingleRAN LTE solution.

“We are thrilled to partner with Huawei on a further breakthrough in network deployment by launching the world’s first LTE TDD/FDD network, which will enhance user experience with improved data speeds and create a more compact and efficient network infrastructure,” said Adam Kuriański, President of Aero2.
