Italian operator Wind selects Huawei for LTE/HSPA+

Italian telecom operator Wind has selected Huawei for development of HSPA+, LTE mobile networks, core network and fibre optics for ultra-wideband.

Italian telecom operator Wind has selected Huawei for development of HSPA+, LTE mobile networks, core network and fibre optics for ultra-wideband.

Wind is an Italian operator which offers integrated mobile, fixed and IPTV and Internet services.

According to agreement, a Joint Innovation Lab would be setup in Rome to research and implement technologies and advanced services from the fields of fixed and mobile telecommunications as well as converged communications

Wind will adopt Huawei’s integrated multi-standard platform SingleRAN. This project will cover seven regions in Italy and the new adopted transmission standards will be HSPA +, LTE and IP ready.

We are pleased to have further consolidated its partnership with Huawei, said Ossama Bessada Chief Operating Officer of Wind, Our common goal and ‘offer bandwidth services mobile broadband and fixed ultra-wideband high quality’ both to businesses and consumers Italians.
