Huawei and South Korea’s mobile operator LG Uplus have jointly completed a commercial network field trail of 3 different band Carrier Aggregation (3CC CA). LG Uplus currently has 7.5 million LTE subscribers across three commercial LTE network bandwidths of 800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz.
As a key LTE-Advanced technology, CA combines two or more basic bands to meet higher throughput demand and efficiently deliver fast data speeds, strengthening overall network capacity and providing a more seamless user experience. The technology will be supported by 3CC CA technology compatible smart phones later this year.
Earlier, LG Uplus and Huawei jointly demonstrated the 3CC CA solution at Mobile World Congress 2014, LG Uplus then completed the commercial use of 3CC CA and now plans to deploy advanced technologies such as Intelligent Carrier Aggregation to provide better user experiences.
