Movistar Colombia has launched 4G LTE network in Santa Marta. Operator aims to provide LTE coverage to 58 major cities across the country by July 2014 and plans to increase the coverage to 313 municipalities by 2018.
Movistar Colombia has launched 4G LTE network in Santa Marta. Operator aims to provide LTE coverage to 58 major cities across the country by July 2014 and plans to increase the coverage to 313 municipalities by 2018.
Operator’s LTE network is already available in Bogota, Cali, Bucaramanga, Medellin, Barranquilla, Popayan and Pasto. Movistar is currently offering 18 smartphones from Samsung, Nokia, Sony, BlackBerry, iPhone, ZTE and Motorola as well as MiFi modems with LTE capabilities.
According to the operator, it has made an investment of more than 4 billion pesos in Santa Mart for LTE network expansion.
