Nokia Solutions and Networks has signed a new contract with Sprint for the deployment of TDD LTE across its 2.5 GHz spectrum, which will increase its high-speed data capacity as part of Sprint’s large-scale U.S. roll-out.

Under the contract, NSN will implement its TDD LTE Radio solution with the latest LTE-Advanced-ready software capabilities and NetAct network management system. NSN will also provide professional services. NSN’s TDD LTE Radio solution features the company’s Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station using high capacity baseband platform and high bandwidth TDD LTE 8-pipe radio.

Today, NSN is conducting a demonstration at Sprint’s facility in Burlingame that shows a downlink throughput of 1.3 Gbps. NSN is using its commercial Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station, which includes a TDD LTE 8-pipe radio module for the lab demonstration.
