March 22, 2010 – Powerwave Technologies, Inc , a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions, today announced it will be introducing new innovative infrastructure solutions for next-generation wireless networks at International CTIA Wireless 2010, in Las Vegas, March 23-25 – the premier wireless event that brings together the wireless and converged communications, wireless broadband, mobile web computing and data industries.

Powerwave will introduce a new lineup of wireless infrastructure solutions, including:

• ADM: Powerwave’s new Advanced Diagnostic Module (ADM) offering is an innovative and cost-effective solution that provides wireless operators with real-time diagnostic capabilities to optimize network performance, improve wireless network uptime and reduce maintenance costs. Designed for indoor applications, and supporting CDMA and 1xEV-DO (with GSM/EDGE, WCDMA and OFDMA future options), the ADM provides base station diagnostic capabilities for RF equipment residing outside the base station cabinet. With the ADM, operators can remotely monitor and optimize forward and reverse link signals between the base transceiver station and third-party equipment – as well as between third-party equipment and antennas.

• Nexus FT 700 MHz LTE Repeaters: Powerwave will also introduce its 700 MHz wideband Nexus™ FT single- and dual-band repeaters, among the first wireless coverage solutions products released in the North American market to support 4G 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE™) wireless network deployments. Designed to maintain quality of service and to support new mobile data services within current in-building coverage systems, Powerwave’s Nexus FT 700 MHz LTE repeater systems offer operators a reliable, cost-effective and future-proof solution for extending the capacity and reach of their existing wireless networks.

• RapidFlex™Mobile Deployment Unit: Powerwave’s RapidFlex™ Mobile Deployment Unit is a lightweight, compact mobile communications site capable of being deployed within 30 minutes by a single person, and is designed to provide commercial network operators or third-party vertical market integrators with a cost-effective solution for expanded wireless capacity. The unit boosts wireless capacity to support high concurrent call volume and data access in various commercial scenarios, such as large-scale special event coverage, parking garage or surveillance applications, and temporary-to-permanent project support. Ideal for addressing “grey area” coverage areas where wireless service is spotty or non-existent – and where service providers must still comply with FCC mandates, including Enhanced 911 (E911) – RapidFlex is an exceptionally rugged, versatile wireless communications solution.

• LTE Digital Remote Radio Heads for 700 MHz and 2.1 GHz Band Deployments: Powerwave will announce the expansion of the company’s award-winning remote radio head family to include two new products optimized for use in 700 MHz and 2.1 GHz bands – the two most dominant frequency bands in the U.S. being targeted near-term by major carriers – for 3GPP LTE network deployments.

Featuring a small, lightweight form factor weighing less than 13kg, Powerwave’s LTE digital remote radio heads can be physically mated to base-band subassemblies to form tower-mounted macro base stations that support up to three LTE carriers, and can be tower or rooftop mounted. The digital remote radio head is highly configurable via firmware, providing ease of customization and time-to-market advantage, and is also power efficient, to provide operational cost savings over the life of the network.

Additionally at CTIA, Powerwave will be showcasing its advanced antenna solutions, including its family of Clean Site solutions, which minimize the visual impact of a complete antenna system and significantly reduce investment and operational costs for network operators when building new or upgrading existing networks, significantly streamlining site acquisition.

Also on display at CTIA will be Powerwave’s LTE antenna line – the industry’s highest performing line of LTE antennas on the market today – which enables network planners to address consumers’ demands for new broadband services with rapidly deployable robust wireless infrastructure solutions.
