Qualcomm, Ericsson Demonstrate LTE Advanced Category 6 at Mobile World Congres

Qualcomm and Ericsson, will be conducting live demonstrations of LTE Advanced Category 6 connectivity with download speeds up to 300 Mbps at Mobile World Congress.

Qualcomm and Ericsson, will be conducting live demonstrations of LTE Advanced Category 6 connectivity with download speeds up to 300 Mbps at Mobile World Congress. The demonstration is being conducted using a test device equipped with Qualcomm Technologies’ fourth-generation multimode LTE modem – the Qualcomm® Gobi™ 9×35 – on Ericsson network infrastructure.

According to Qualcomm, the Gobi 9×35 modem offers  up to 300 Mbps LTE Advanced connections worldwide, doubling the peak download speeds of previous generation and supporting up to 40 MHz wideband carrier aggregation deployments on FDD and TDD networks.

In addition to faster data speeds, the Gobi 9×35 consumes less power and requires less printed circuit board (PCB) area than previous generations, enabling OEMs to design sleeker devices without sacrificing performance, while at the same time allowing operators to increase their network capacity and efficiency.
