South Korea’s SK Telecom and Japan’s Softbank have launched LTE roaming service in Japan and South Korea. LTE subscribers of SK Telecom and Softbank will be able to roam in Japan and Korea on the operators’ LTE networks.

SK Telecom’s customers who use LTE/LTE-Advanced device that supports 1.8 GHz or 2.1 GHz (Galaxy Note 3 – to be released, G2, Vega LTE-A, etc.) will be able to access data communications over SoftBank’s LTE network in Japan.
Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, SK Telecom has achieved interworking of 1.8 GHz FD-LTE and 2.6 GHz TD-LTE trial networks under cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s operator Mobily. SK Telecom expects to soon commercialize an international auto roaming service that operates on two different standards (FD-LTE and TD-LTE) of LTE technology.
