According to Sprint CFO Joseph Euteneuer, Sprint will roll out first 4G LTE devices in the second half of 2012.

According to Sprint CFO Joseph Euteneuer, Sprint will roll out first 4G LTE devices in the second half of 2012. In October earlier, Sprint has announced plans to roll 4G LTE in Mid-2012.

Sprint expects to launch approximately 15 devices coming throughout the 2012 including handsets, tablets and data cards.

Fierce Wireless reports that in a wide-ranging interview at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference, Euteneuer also said Sprint’s LTE network will be “very competitive to what’s out in the marketplace” in terms of LTE network speeds when the company does launch LTE service by mid-2012.

Sprint will begin a rapid national rollout of LTE on its 1900MHz spectrum. Sprint plans to complete the network build-out by the end of 2013. By the conclusion of 2013, Sprint’s 4G coverage footprint is expected to cover more than 250 million people.

On recent Sprint and Clearwire agreement, Euteneuer said those buildout targets are going to be for hotspots across the country where both companies are seeing high demand. “We are asking them to build out initially to only a portion of what they cover,” he said. It is not the full network that they have to date.
