Telecom New Zealand Launches LTE Network

Telecom New Zealand is launching 4G LTE network across parts of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch today.  Telecom announced last month that access to its 4G network would be free for customers with 4G-capable devices. It has also made 4G available to its prepaid customers as well for no extra cost.

It has also made 4G available to its prepaid customers as well for no extra cost. 

From tomorrow, Telecom will have eighteen 4G-capable devices on its network. These include the iPhone5s, iPhone5c, iPhone5, Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 625, Nokia Lumia 1020, HTC One, HTC One Mini, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung S4 Mini, Samsung Note 3, the Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia Z1, Blackberry Z10, Huawei Ascend P2, Huawei E5776 WiFi hotspot, Samsung Galaxy S4 Advanced and the rugged Telecom R83, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

All Telecom customers on pay-monthly plans or the $19 and $29 prepaid packs are able to access up to 1GB per day on Telecom’s national WiFi network of more than 750 hotspots all over New Zealand.
