Vodafone New Zealand has launched 4G LTE services in parts of Wellington. Operator’s LTE network is available already in parts of Auckland, Christchurch, Lake Brunner, Queenstown, Wanaka and Taupo.
Vodafone New Zealand has launched 4G LTE services in parts of Wellington. Operator’s LTE network is available already in parts of Auckland, Christchurch, Lake Brunner, Queenstown, Wanaka and Taupo.
LTE network is currently available to over 30% of Wellington including the central city and Lower Hutt and will rise to more than 50% in September. Vodafone’s 4G network build is being carried out in partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks with next stop Palmerston North.
According to Vodafone, well over 150,000 4G-capable devices are now active on it’s network. Vodafone currently offers 14 4G-capable devices including the new Sony Xperia SP, BlackBerry Z10, HTC One, Samsung GALAXY S4 and iPhone 5. Three new 4G-capable devices – the Samsung GALAXY S4 Mini, Samsung GALAXY S4 Active and Nokia Lumia 925 – will be available from Vodafone in August.
