ZTE Selected as a 4G Radio Equipment Supplier for BASE Company in Belgium

ZTE has been selected as a 4G radio equipment supplier for BASE Company, the Belgian subsidiary of Dutch mobile operator KPN. BASE Company has launched 4G services in 15 cities and was the second operator to start 4G in Belgium.

Operator’s LTE network is currently available in  Aalst, Antwerp, Beveren, Bruges, Charleroi, Genk, Ghent, Hasselt, Kortrijk, Leuven, Liège, Mechelen, Namur, Ostend and Sint-Truiden. Other cities will soon be added.

As Radio equipment supplier for BASE Company, ZTE earlier helped to construct UMTS and HSPA Dual Carrier networks in Belgium. 

According to ZTE, by June 2013, it had obtained 60 4G commercial contracts and 40 EPC commercial contracts. ZTE has successfully launched commercial 4G services for China Mobile, Telenor, TeliaSonera, Bharti, Hutchison, and Telstra.
