France’s Bouygues Telecom has announced the commercial launch of its 4G LTE network in six cities on 6 May. The cities are Lyon, Strasbourg, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Vanves, Malakoff, and Toulouse. Operator will further expand LTE network in June in Lille, Douai, Lens and the Basque Coast.

Bouygues Telecom plans to provide LTE coverage in a dozen cities before the summer and more than 100 cities from October 1. With that coverage, operator will have LTE coverage for 40% of the population.
Operator will use 2600 MHz spectrum to deploy the LTE services and plans to use LTE-1800 band from October 1, 2013 as well.
