O2 to launch commercial LTE in Germany

Telefónica Germany plans to start LTE services from July 1, 2011. Operator is offering mobile broadband services under the name “O2 LTE at Home”.

Telefónica Germany plans to start LTE services from July 1, 2011. Operator is offering mobile broadband services under the name “O2 LTE at Home”. Users can surf up to 7.2 megabits per second on the web.

During the first six months, new services will cost only 29,90 € per month, and then regular price of 39,90 € per month. Telefónica is offering LTE wireless router for 49,90 € with a facility fee of 49,90 Euro. The contract term is of 24 months.

“O2 LTE at Home” is available in various places in Germany. It includes Oberreichenbach in the Black Forest, Abtsteinach mountain road in the districtor in the hall Zscherben district, in Saxony-Anhalt. Telefónica Germany is using it’s 800-megahertz frequencies from the license auction last year.
