Huawei and Netcom ( subsidiary of TeliaSonera in Norway ) today announced a successful showcase of “live” services over the world’ s first commercial LTE ( Long Term Evolution ) network in Oslo, Norway after the world’s first mobile broadband Internet connection was achieved early this month.
Versatile applications that have a high requirement on bandwidth and latency such as VoD ( Video on Demand ), video streaming, FTP ( File Transfer Protocol ), web surfing, video conferencing and video telephony were demonstrated under real outfield network conditions. Through the adoption of key LTE technologies such as MIMO ( Multiple Input Multiple Output ) and OFDM ( Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex ), the network is able to deliver download peak data rate of up to 150Mbps in one LTE cell with multiple terminals.
