Vivo Selects Ericsson as LTE Network Supplier in Brazil

Vivo, a subsidiary of Telefônica, has selected Ericsson to supply and implement a 4G LTE network in the North and Mid-Western regions of Brazil, as well as the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Bahia and Sergipe.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will supply its latest RBS 6000 multi-standard radio base stations. Ericsson is also responsible for network implementation, including network rollout, design and support services.

This agreement is Ericsson’s second LTE win in Brazil. According to company, it has now signed 89 LTE/EPC contracts in 38 countries on five continents.
