Alcatel-Lucent and Telenor Group have signed a global frame agreement making Alcatel-Lucent a candidate provider for 4G LTE networks to the subsidiaries in 13 countries in Europe and Asia. The agreement offers Telenor subsidiaries Alcatel-Lucent’s 4G LTE Overlay solution as an alternative to single RAN deployment.
Alcatel-Lucent’s 4G LTE Radio Access Network and the 5620 Service Aware Manager are included in the scope of the agreement.
According to Alcatel-Lucent, its 4G LTE overlay network provides operators with a significantly faster and less expensive 4G deployment option, enabling LTE services to be quickly launched over the top of existing mobile infrastructure without the need for time-consuming equipment upgrades.
