GTA Launches LTE Network in Guam

Local mobile operator GTA has launched 4G LTE network in Guam. This network upgrade overlays LTE wireless technology within the northern and central areas of the island.

Local mobile operator GTA has launched 4G LTE network in Guam. This network upgrade overlays LTE wireless technology within the northern and central areas of the island.

According to operator, 4G LTE is available in key areas where most 3G data traffic occurs. Sites are located in the villages of Agana, Agana Heights, Asan, Agat, Barrigada, Chalan Pago, Dededo, Mangilao, Sinajana, Tamuning, Tumon and Yigo. Plans are underway to expand 4G LTE coverage areas in 2014.

Operator’s LTE network is capable of supporting the popular smartphones including the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE and S4 LTE, and other select handsets available at GTA. There are no additional fees or premium charges for existing GTA wireless data customers to access the new 4G LTE network.
