Wireless chipmaker Qualcomm aims to add India as a market for its next-generation TD-LTE technology, which China Mobile plans to showcase at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
Wireless phone companies around the world are starting to roll out fourth-generation, or 4G, LTE (long-term evolution) wireless broadband networks. China Mobile has been testing Qualcomm’s LTE variant called TD, for “time division,” data processing. Some equipment makers, such as Ericsson, are also pushing TD-LTE.
